RedGIFs reverse search: find the Reddit post or the full video
A reverse search for NSFW Reddit clips and pictures. Drop a RedGIFs clip, a v.redd.it video or an i.redd.it image, and the search looks for it among 1.1M posts from a selected set of adult subreddits. You get the post that shared it, and often the longer video the clip was cut from.

Reddit in this index
Reddit posts in the index
Not all of Reddit: a chosen list of NSFW communities, with both their clip posts and their picture posts.
Two answers
One Reddit clip, two places it can lead
Most RedGIFs clips are a few seconds lifted from a longer video. So the search can answer twice: with the Reddit post that shared your clip, and with the full-length video it came from on a tube site, when that video is indexed too.
The Reddit result opens the post itself. From there you have the RedGIFs or Reddit media link, the title the poster wrote and the comment thread, which sometimes already names the source.
What gets stored
How a Reddit post is kept in the index
Clips
A RedGIFs or v.redd.it clip is kept as its still plus three frames from inside it. Four pictures, no video.
Pictures
Image posts from i.redd.it are indexed as well, up to four images per post, so a saved Reddit picture can be searched on its own.
Timing
A post is added about two days after posting, once it has a few upvotes. Something posted this morning is not in yet.
Why other searches miss
Reddit NSFW reverse search: why tags and Google Lens fall short
RedGIFs search works with tags, and Reddit search works with the words in post titles. A clip that was saved, reshared or screen-recorded has lost both. Google Lens keeps explicit results out of view, and TinEye only knows images sitting on regular web pages, so a RedGIFs loop rarely turns up in either.
Here the frames are the query. Each frame of your clip becomes a fingerprint, goes up against the stored stills of every indexed post and tube video, and has to line up keypoint by keypoint before anything is called a Match.
Better odds
Searching a Reddit clip: what works
Use the clip itself
Only four pictures per post are stored. A clip gives dozens of frames, and each one is another chance to meet them.
Loops are fine
A looping GIF or a trimmed MP4 is read frame by frame, and one sharp frame from every scene is searched.
Read every result
The full video is usually the tube result, and the post is where you saw it. Both can show up in one list.
Screen recordings from the Reddit or RedGIFs app work too. The black bars and the blurred copy of the clip that apps put around a vertical video are trimmed off before anything is searched.
Nothing found
If the Reddit post is not in the index
The subreddit may not be one of the indexed ones, or the post may be younger than two days. The full video can still turn up from a tube site, so a miss on Reddit is not the end of the trail. To find more of the same performer, the face search looks for other indexed videos with that face.
If a post shows you and you want it gone, anything in the index can be taken out through the removal page. StopNCII.org and the Revenge Porn Helpline help with images shared without consent.
FAQ
Questions
How do I reverse search a RedGIFs clip?
Save the clip, or screen-record a few seconds of it, then drop the file on this page. Its frames are compared with the stills of indexed Reddit posts and tube videos, and every Match links to the post or video it came from.
Can I find the source of a Reddit porn GIF?
Often, yes. Reddit clips are usually cut from full videos, so besides the Reddit post the search can return the full video on a tube site, when that video is indexed too.
Does it search all of Reddit?
No. It covers a chosen set of NSFW subreddits, not every community on the site. Posts there join the index about two days after they go up, once they have a few upvotes.
Why does a Match link to Reddit instead of RedGIFs?
The index stores the Reddit post, and the post carries the RedGIFs or Reddit media link. Opening it gives you the clip, its title and its comments.
Does it work as an r34 video finder?
Rarely. The Reddit communities in the index share live-action clips and pictures, not drawn, animated or 3D rule 34 work. An animated clip can only match if one of the indexed tube sites carries it.
Can I search with a Reddit picture post?
Yes. Picture posts from i.redd.it are indexed alongside the clips, so a saved Reddit image can lead back to the post that shared it.
Why did my clip match a tube video but no Reddit post?
The post may sit in a subreddit outside the indexed set, or be too new, while the video it was cut from is indexed. That is often the better answer anyway: the whole scene, with its title.
